Client – Healthshield

Healthshield

Software and database development

On-site

Three projects (separate contracts)

  • Design and implement a REST Api for a secure health services application.
  • Assist with migration of internal systems to a managed cloud provider.
  • Built a Data Warehouse for analysis and reporting

Initially, I was the technical lead on the API project but this role is now passed to a new permanent member of staff (as it should be).

Key achievements

  • Built REST API for a new health services application using .net 3.1 and Azure services.
  • Designed database for storage of the health services application.
  • Secured the API with two B2C Active Directory tenants in Azure (JWT).
  • Integrated new team members to work on the project for both development and testing.
  • Implemented unit testing (xUnit) and integration testing (Postman) in conjunction with the new test team.
  • Implemented a billing transfer system using Azure Service Bus, for the new health services application to send data to HQ.
  • Successfully migrated numerous internal servers, applications and data to a managed service provider.
  • CI/CD using Azure DevOps.
  • Learned a lot about Microsoft CRM 2016 and Navision 2016.
  • Consulted with client management, client infrastructure service provider and managed cloud provider management during migration, so that everyone understood the systems, required changes and migration strategy.
  • Raised awareness of requirements for a data warehouse and data strategy.
